First of all, APOLOGIES to all those who actually took time to read this blog. I know I owe this blog Miss MGS part 2. Well after much delay, here it is.

[Warning: This post might be boring.]

Stage 1

It started with a catwalk. We were required to walk the runway with a partner. After that, we had our individual catwalks. It went like this.

*introduce self*

*answer to the question ‘Why do you think you ought to be the next Miss MGS?’*

This is what I said. “The name’s Janna Wong from 3 Hornbill. I think I should be the next Miss MGS because I love this school and I would be proud to represent this institution of distinction with a cutting edge in education. Thank you.”

[I had to do that because the scarf was too confining.]

While waiting for the judges decision based on how we walked and talked, all the contestants danced to ‘Beautiful Girls’ by Jojo. It was a very simple dance – one that we can do in heels and skirts.

Then the top 10 finalists were announced. This was when I was planning to exit. It was freaking scary because my name was last to be called.

Stage 2

Talent time. Mine went as mentioned below.

Dressing: collared shirt, wraparound skirt, heels, hair pinned up.

*sings*

“Wise men says, only fools rush in, but I can’t help falling in love with you.”

*music plays. [Breezy - Jojo]*

*Janna unpins her hair*

*loose her heels*

*runs upstage*

*unleash wraparound skirt*

*dances*

After the whole talent show, five of us were chosen. This was where I should have emulated the famous Houdini.

The expertise was lacking and I was called last again. AWFULLY SCARY AYE?

Stage 3

The five of us were asked to pick an envelope which would determine which question we are to answer.

I was last so I didn’t get to pick my question.

Winner : Kah Yee from 3 [not sure] : What does beauty mean to you?

1st runner-up : Meng Ying from 3 Heron : What would you do as Miss MGS? [or something like that]

2nd runner-up : Sonia from 3 Heron : Nowadays child abuse is very common. What would you do to lessen/prevent these from happening? [or something like that]

3rd runner up : ME from 3 Hornbill : You are the first Malaysian female astronaut, what are your preparations?

4th runner-up : Thulasi from 3 Eagle : What would you do to make yourself stand out at a dinner?

Don’t ask me what I answered to that question. It was my blonde moment. In other words, my most embarrassing moment. This was when the stage should have opened up and swallow me in.

[STUPID USELESS STAGE! WHY DO YOU THINK YOU ARE HOLLOW ON THE INSIDE?! AND WHERE IS THE TRAPDOOR? GOOD-FOR-NOTHING! DARN YOU! DARN ME! LOSER!]

Yes, it was that bad.

Hmmm …..what’s the probability of me ending up with such a question?

Well, more than enough I suppose.

What’s the probability of a teenager having nonconforming opinions?

Not much I suppose.

What’s the probability of answering with a question?

Almost nil. Next to impossible!

What’s the probability of a teenager turning pageantry into p_ _ _ _ _ _ _? (you guess)

Preposterous!

What’s the probability of having so many questions running in your head and having the answer run off your lips without going through grey matter?

Too much!
